Mid-Century JEANNE NADAL Beauty Aids Kit w/ Cosmetics from CHICAGO, PARIS & N.Y. -
This is a kit that was sold Door to door in the late 1940's and 1950's.
History behind Jeanne Nadal Beauty Aids:
S.B.Fuller: One of the early powerhouses in the haircare industry was S.B. Fuller who established the Fuller Products Company on the Chicago's Southside in 1936. By 1947, he scored a coup when he purchased Boyer International Laboratories, a white cosmetics manufacturer that sold products such as Jean Nadal Cosmetics and a tonic called H.A. Hair Arranger. By the 1950s, Fuller developed a sales
force of 5,000 that reportedly sold haircare and cosmetics to white and black customers. He became the first African American member of the National Association of Manufacturers.

These sit in the back of the case and are still wrapped (plastic wrap is starting to come apart due to age. Never used.

- TANGEE ROUGE is Debossed on top of its black metal round compact case. Color is similar to a Coral Red. Has its own tiny "Powder Puff". Back is marked "THE GEORGE W. LUFT CO. New York MADE IN USA. M
easures 1 1/8". Little tin is in good condition, minimal scuffing consistent with age. Rouge appears never to have been used.

- Approximately 2" Tall. Marked on base says, " STRAWBERRY INDELIBLE FRAISE". Debossed with MADE IN USA on Interior.

Jar feels full and heavy. Unable to open.
1 - 2 Oz. Night & Texture Cream No. 189 in Milk Glass Jar -
Jar appears mostly full although
consistency
of cream has changed due to age.
1 Glass Perfume Bottle with Glass Lid and Stopper -
Empty bottle. Lid/Stopper has a smoky glass look compared to clear bottle. Approximately 3" Tall x 2" Wide. Bottom edge of lid has 2 very small "flea bites".
1 Small Silk Magnolia
- for elegance.
All of these items in the case weigh (before packaging) 5 Lbs.
