  • Condition: Earlier version made in Japan Chrome is in good condition for its age with some minor pitting, peppering and or possible scratches. The red Japan label has a small amount of lifting on the sharp edges (sharp! be careful!) The drum appears original except for the heads, which are used. The top Pinstripe head has a small cig burn on the edge (visible around 11 o'clock on the picture of the top head) but still appears strong and ready for action. The snare wire is replacement and is the wider version. Drum tunes up and sounds great, new heads would probably improve sound a bit at the buyers expense.     Description

    Here's a Tama Singstar snare drum. It is an earlier edition of Swing Star, made in Japan. It was found alongside some Swing Star toms with the lugs with lines over them. This drum is in good used condition and has replaced used heads and snare wire. Otherwise appears original.
    The shell is 14" diameter and 5" depth. The weight of this drum is just under 8 lbs. A magnet sticks to the shell not to the lugs but to the shell also to the hoops so I am guessing this is a chrome over steel shell. The chrome has areas with some pitting and/or peppering or slight oxidization, and minimal scratching. After I put the used Pinstripe batter head (has a small hole at 11'oclock shown in picture of top head but doesn't affect tune-ability or sound) and the Evans snare side used head and tuned it up it sounds great. I'm sure other head choices made by the owner will elicit great sound as well.
