Short description: Up for sale is a vintage 1978 Ludwig "Rock Concert" Model Snare Drum.  Not only does it look awesome but it sounds nice too.
Long description: Look at pic #12 as it's the "before shot".  I took a 10"x14" Challenger model marching snare drum with the 10 long Mach lugs and cut it in half.  The good thing about the long Mach lugs is they have 4 mounting holes.  The outside set of holes are 2 3/16" center to center, same as a regular bowtie lug (or imperial).  Super nice 6 ply shell with clear maple interior too.
It was already drilled for the P-87 Classic throw-off and p-34 butt plate so all the factory holes were there to complete this snare drum.  These two items came out of my personal Ludwig parts stash!
Nice original Ludwig sky blue pearl finish with minimal fade.  I put a minty pointed edge blue olive badge on with a brass grommet, serial #1690421.
Condition notes: 1) Pic #5 shows the two leftover factory holes from the previously mounted leg rest.  I choose not to plug them.  2) I didn't have 10 bowtie lugs so I used some imperial lugs from a Supra-phonic.  They have serious pitting on them.  3) The 20 tension rods are misc. out of my parts drawer. 4) The bottom rim is a brand new Gibraltar, and the top rim is a Pearl Super Hoop (see pic #5). 5) I put the new 20 strand PureSound snare wires on, but this model snare drum should have the individual adjustable snare wires that go with the P-87 classic throw-off and P-34 butt plate.  Maybe you have a set. 6)
I filed a new bearing edge on the top batter side matching the angle of the bottom edge (see pic #9).  7) Brand new Remo Ambassador snare side clear bottom head and the top head is a lightly used Remo WeatherKing Emperor X head.
