Vintage 1980’s 4 1/2” White Mohair Muzzle Bear by Bear Artist Durae Allen

Handmade by one of the earliest bear artists, Durea Allen, in the late 80’s, this super bear with muzzle, was inspired by the original antique Steiff muzzle bear.  He is definitely a white mohair, not yellowed like the pictures unfortunately make him look. His muzzle and leash are tan leather, paw pads are tan.  He has a short leather strip sewn into his back and I think it might have had Durea’s signature on it, but has faded off.  He is from my personal collection and one of my first purchases. I took extra good care of him and only displayed him for short amounts of time.  Durae was considered quite a good, popular maker of bears and it was always a treat to be able to add one of her bears to a collection.  He was mostly stored, but always in a non smoking home. I will be listing more artist bear, etc., auctions.  All are discontinued items, most are  complete with tags.  I was in business from the late 1980’s up to the early 2000’s, carried artist creations, NABCO lines especially VanderBears, LE Steiff as well as Gund and other companies that made interesting and wonderful collectible bears, etc.  I had booths at bear shows and sold on eBay (as cmporter) during that time.
