    Description

Vintage Travel Grooming Vanity Set in Alligator Case early 1900's. This unique item is an alligator leather case (16-1/2" x 11" x 6") marked as made by Pedro E Mattaldi, Buenos Aires (between 1906-1914). The case has a unique curve to it (not damage, this is the way it was designed and made). It is monogramed RGB on the front and also has a brass plate on top monogramed with CBS. The case is in good condition with no tears or damage, just typical light wear to corners and edges. Handle is intact and solid. Latches work, no key available. This set includes a matching set of 5 etched glass jars with brass lids, plus a round brass powder case with puff and some contents, a brass travel curling iron heater, and another rectangular brass case with milk glass insert and cork pads. Also included are a cork match holder with old matches, also present is a small leather covered box with a small metal wax stamp with initials CB and a matching sewing kit. Also includes 2 brushes, a comb, a nail buffer, 2 small round containers in unmarked celluloid. Also 1 buttonhook with a bone handle.
We believe there would have been a removable mirror in the lid, but that is missing. The latch for the mirror pocket is in the set, but detached from the mirror pocket. Also appears 2 other small items are missing from the area next to the mirror area.  All of the jars, powder container, curling heater, and milk glass lined case have matching hammered brass tops.
